As the Sustainable Green Campus Coordination Office, we organized an engaging awareness workshop to promote eco-friendly transportation and encourage the bicycle culture on our campus!
During the event, we held hands-on sessions on:
🔹 Choosing the right bicycle
🔹 Safe cycling practices
🔹 Tire repair
🔹 Chain replacement
Our nature-friendly workshop was carried out in collaboration with EnverÇevko Association and Muğla Kemeraltı Bicycle Group. 🌍
Through a fun mini competition and shared experiences, we both learned and enjoyed the day. 💚

Our coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sena AKÇER ÖN visited Medipol University SURKAM (Sustainable Application and Research Center) for cooperation.

Uşak University Energy, Environment and Sustainability (ENÇES) Application and Research Center Assistant Director Lecturer Gökhan Yıldırım, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Sustainable Green Campus Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sena Akçer Ön, Coordinator Assistant Lecturer Ayla Çetinkaya and Res. Asst. Naz Fulya Çibik came together for the purpose of “Energy, Environment and Sustainability” cooperation. As a result of the meetings and discussions to be held after the conference, it was decided to combine these joint studies between Uşak University ENÇES Application and Research Center and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Sustainable Green Campus Coordinatorship.

October 24-25-26 TÜBİTAK Blue Green Muğla Science Festival
The Blue Green Muğla Science Festival, which was awarded a grant by the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festivals Support Program, met with its visitors at Menteşe City Square on October 24-25-26. As Sustainable Green Campus Coordinatorship, we supported the TÜBİTAK 4007- Blue Green Muğla Science Festival with 4 different projects.

June 23-24, 2023 Capacity Building Training and Cycling Project Workshop
Within the scope of the SWW Sport Without Waste project, which we cooperate with as Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Sustainable Green Campus Coordinatorship in order to make a difference by using the power of sports in recycling in order to reduce excessive consumption by taking action in the climate crisis process that our world is facing with increasing environmental problems and to encourage sustainable practices, Capacity Building Training and Cycling Project Workshop started with information presentations and activities held with many students and institution representatives at the Faculty of Fisheries today. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Celal ATEŞ also attended the event.
June 6, 2023 Environment Week Event - Visit to the Faculty of Fisheries with secondary school students, Information, Visit to the Fish Museum
On June 6, 2023, within the scope of the environment week event organized by our coordinatorship, 60 students from 'Nazmi Zehra İyibilir' Secondary School were given informative presentations by our Faculty of Aquaculture professors. First, our Coordinator Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Vesile Hatun Akansel made an opening speech and introduced the coordinatorship. Then, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bahadır Önsoy made a presentation titled 'The World of Oceans'. Following the intense interest and questions of the students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Yabanlı shared information about microplastics and their dangers with his presentation titled Plastic Seas. Finally, Prof. Dr. Halit Filiz, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries, provided information on the protection of sandbar sharks and ecological balance. Students showed high participation by asking various questions throughout the presentations. After the informative presentations, a visit to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Fisheries Fish Museum was organized with the students.
We hope that our event will have a widespread impact. We would like to thank our students, teachers and faculty members of the Faculty of Fisheries for their participation.

Dünya Çevre Günü-Türkiye Çevre Haftası Etkinlikleri Kapsamında Bisiklet Turu
Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi (MSKÜ), 5 Haziran Dünya Çevre Günü’nü çeşitli etkinliklerle kutladı.
Dünya Çevre Günü, İsveç’in Stockholm kentinde 1972 yılında düzenlenen Birleşmiş Milletler Çevre Konferansından bu yana, her yıl 5 Haziran tarihinde, çevrenin korunması konusunda dünya çapında farkındalık yaratılması ve eylemde bulunulması amacıyla kutlanıyor.
MSKÜ de bünyesinde kurduğu Atık Koordinatörlüğü ve Sürdürülebilir Yeşil Kampüs Koordinatörlüğü iş birliğinde her yıl sürdürülebilir enerji, atık, iklim değişikliği ve çevre konularına dikkat çekmek amacıyla pek çok farkındalık etkinlikleri düzenleniyor.
Bu yıl da geri dönüşüm projesi Sport #withoutWaste, Cycling #WithoutWaste farkındalık etkinlikleri kapsamında “Kamu Çalışanları ve Bisiklet Dernekleri Bisiklet Turu” gerçekleştirildi.
Avrupa Birliği Erasmus+ #SportWithoutWaste projesi çerçevesinde yapılan etkinlikte katılımcılar, Muğla Valiliği önünden başlayarak Düğerek Mahallesine kadar pedal çevirdi.
Yaklaşık 50 kişinin katıldığı bisiklet sürme etkinliğinde, 7 kilometre yol katedildi.
