Promotion and Awareness Raising

As the Department of Energy Efficiency and Environment, it is to carry out training and awareness-raising activities in order to increase the effectiveness of energy efficiency services and awareness of energy efficiency in the society. In addition, in order to plan the communication activities envisaged to be carried out in order to achieve the energy efficiency goals and targets of our country, it creates a “guiding ‘Energy Efficiency Communication Plan’ and acts within the framework of this plan.

An awareness campaign is being carried out under the leadership of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to raise public awareness on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. The number of people reached within the scope of the project is as follows.

Household Energy Efficiency Awareness Index 2021

In order to follow the development of energy efficiency at the national level in terms of both knowledge and behavior, the second 'Energy Efficiency Consciousness Index (EECI)' study, the first of which was conducted in 2019, was conducted in 2021 within the scope of the 'Research to Determine the Dimension of Knowledge, Interest and Behavior Regarding Energy Efficiency in the Public' according to the relevant national and international standards. Within the scope of the research, which was completed between October 2-11, 2021, face-to-face (survey) interviews were conducted with 3,000 people over the age of 16 residing in the urban centers of 26 provinces. 

According to this research: The Energy Efficiency Awareness Index of the public in 2021 is determined as 163.8 in the 0-200 value range. This value indicates that the public has a medium-high level of awareness on energy efficiency. The Energy Efficiency Awareness Index shows an increase of 6.1 points compared to 2019.
