MSKU Ranked Among Top Performers in UI GreenMetric 2025
Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) has maintained its strong position in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025, one of the most comprehensive global rankings focused on sustainability in higher education. The university achieved a total score of 7,320 points, demonstrating consistent performance despite increasing global competition.
As of 2025, MSKU ranked within the top 22% worldwide and the top 29% nationally in Türkiye, reaffirming its steady progress in sustainable campus management. The university placed 386th among 1,745 universities globally and 41st among 142 universities in Türkiye.
📊 Stable Performance Despite Increasing Competition
The number of universities participating in UI GreenMetric increased by 18%, rising from 1,477 in 2024 to 1,745 in 2025. In addition, updates in evaluation criteria and the growing number of applications from Türkiye have made the rankings more competitive. Despite these changes, MSKU successfully maintained its position within the top global percentile.
♻️ Improved Scores in Waste and Water Management
In the 2025 evaluation period, MSKU improved its scores in the waste management and water usage categories. Ongoing campus initiatives such as waste reduction, separation, recycling practices, as well as water conservation and efficient use, have contributed significantly to these improvements.
🌱 Institutional and Coordinated Sustainability Efforts
The UI GreenMetric submission process was managed under the coordination of the Sustainable Green Campus Coordination Office, where data from relevant university units were systematically collected, verified, and reported in accordance with the evaluation criteria.
This comprehensive and coordinated effort, supported by both academic and administrative units, played a key role in enhancing the visibility of MSKU’s sustainability performance.
