The ISO 50001 Energy Management System Internal Audit Process at Our University Was Successfully Conducted
A new project has been added to the ongoing efforts to achieve our sustainability and energy efficiency goals. Serap Altın Kaya, a member of our coordinatorship, successfully completed the ISO 50001 Energy Management System Internal Auditor Training held on November 6, 2025, earning her internal auditor qualification.
The training, held in the A Block Meeting Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, covered all processes in practice, from fundamental energy management concepts to audit planning, from nonconformity detection to reporting. The training included a detailed evaluation of the requirements of the ISO 50001:2018 standard, energy performance indicators, energy planning processes, and auditing principles according to ISO 19011.
Following the training, Serap Altın Kaya conducted internal audits in various units to contribute to the improvement of our university's energy management practices. The audits included on-site examinations of energy consumption points, operational processes, recording and monitoring mechanisms, energy performance indicators, and regulatory compliance. The findings were reported, feedback was provided to the relevant units, and corrective action processes were initiated.
These efforts represent a significant step toward achieving our university's energy efficiency goals, sustainable resource management, and continuous improvement of the ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
